Rocketeer's Tip: Loosely crumple 3-4 individual squares as noted in the instructions for your particular model rocket kit. Insert the crumpled wadding into the rocket one piece at a time. If the wadding is crammed into the body tube too tightly, the rocket could suffer damage when the ejection charge fires. If the wadding is rolled into tight little balls before insertion, there will be lots of room for the ejection charge flames to slip past the wadding and damage the recovery system. Whatever you do, don't forget the wadding and don't use any substitute materials! Recovery wadding is specially treated to be flame resistant!
